Infant Hearing Program Services:

  • Community Screening Clinics for the Northeastern Ontario Infant Hearing Program
  • Family Support for families when an infant is identified with a permanent hearing loss under the Northeastern Ontario Infant Hearing Program and the Simcoe Muskoka Parry Sound Infant Hearing Program
  • Communication services for infants identified as having a permanent hearing loss under the Northeastern Ontario Infant Hearing Program and the Simcoe Muskoka Parry Sound Infant Hearing Program

 

Infant Hearing Team

The team consists of Speech–Language Pathologists, Social Worker, Communicative Disorders Assistants and Speech Assistants.

 

Infant Hearing Services Include:

  • Two stage screening of infant hearing
  • Family support to assist families in navigating services, provide counseling and conferencing with other service providers
  • Communication therapy including auditory verbal therapy, speech and language therapy, manual communication therapy
  • Range of interventions as part of the Preschool Speech and Language Services

 

Referral to Infant Hearing Program and Services:

  • Referrals are accepted from the Northeastern Ontario Infant Hearing Program, Wordplay in Sudbury 1-705-522-6655
  • Referrals are accepted from the Simcoe Muskoka Parry Sound Infant Hearing Program, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie 1-705-728-9090

 

Infant Hearing Program ELIGIBILITY

  • Referrals to One Kids Place must be received from Wordplay for children residing in Nipissing and Timiskaming for screening and family support
  • Referrals to One Kids Place must be received from Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for children residing in Muskoka and Parry Sound for screening and family support
  • Children are eligible for communication services up to 7 years of age
