Infant Hearing Program

The One Kids Place Infant Hearing Program delivers support for speech and language services for children identified as having a permanent hearing loss under the Northeastern Ontario Infant Hearing Program and the Simcoe Muskoka Parry Sound Infant Hearing Program.

The Infant Hearing Program provides various supports for your child and family, including;

  • Two stage Community Screening Clinics for the Northeastern Ontario Infant Hearing Program (For children residing in Nipissing and Timiskaming Districts)
  • Social Work Services: Family support, counselling and conferencing with other service providers
  • Speech and Language Pathology Services: auditory verbal therapy, speech and language therapy
  • Range of interventions as part of the Preschool Speech and Language Program

 

The Program includes:

Your Infant Hearing Team will consists of Speech–Language Pathologists, Social Workers, Communicative Disorders Assistants and Speech Assistants.

Eligibility

Children (up to the age of 7 years) who resides within the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound and Timiskaming with permanent hearing loss.

Referral

The North Bay Regional Health Centre is the lead agency and the referral source for the Northeast Ontario Infant Hearing program which is a part of the Ontario Infant Hearing Program.

Referrals to One Kids Place are accepted from the Northeastern Ontario Infant Hearing Program;
