February is National Therapeutic Recreation Month. Therapeutic Recreation is a service that supports children, youth and their families to access, enjoy and fully participate in leisure activities while increasing independence. One Kids Place offers treatment, education and recreation participation to enable children and youth with physical, cognitive, emotional and/or social limitations to acquire and maintain a healthy lifestyle. In partnership with North Bay Professional Fire Fighters, One Kids Place is hosting a Home Alone Course on Friday, February 2, 2024. This course is for any young person that will be spending short periods of time home alone. This course covers many issues that will help children and their parents or caregivers feel more confident. ages 9 and older Upon completion, all participants receive a certificate.

The Plasma Car Races are back! In partnership with Canadore Panthers’ AthLeadership Group, we are hosting this fun filled event all in support of our Autism Services Program. $300 per team- pledges welcome! Registration: 5:30pm Races start at 6pm Location: Canadore College Gymnasium, 100 College Drive
One Kids Crew is a group program that provides social opportunities for youth to explore their creativity with the support of our Autism Team. This group is for children 10 years and older $200 for 4 sessions
The 2nd Annual Ride for Jack is back! This fundraising event, being organized by North Bay Mountain Bike Association, is in support of the Autism Services Program at One Kids Place and is held in memory of our friend Jack Lyons. Event proceeds will support special initiatives and opportunities for our children, youth & families with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis.
