PLANNING FOR THE NEW FACILITY

Collective community support has resulted in approvals for One Kids Place to build a new Children’s Treatment Centre in North Bay to serve the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. This life-long dream is now a reality for children and youth with special needs and their families and the staff who provide these essential services.

ACTIVITY TO DATE

• One Kids Place has received approval for $7.4 M in funding from the new Ministry of Children and Youth Services to construct the new facility.

• The completion of the Functional Program details the space requirements for program delivery and staff.

• Mitchell Architects has been hired as the project architect.

• One Kids Place is developing design options with the following Resource Groups: Paediatricians, Case Management/ Intake, Clinical Services, Family and the Project Management Team.

NEXT STEPS

1. Design development.

2. Development of the construction documents.

3. Tendering of the project.

4. Construction of the new facility.

5. Occupancy.
